Season 3
LEXX 3.01: "Fire and Water" The Lexx arrives in the Dark Zone adrift and out of fuel. Until they find something for it to eat the Lexx cannot travel and the nearest planetary system is over 400 light years away. 790 estimates at their current drift speed it could take anywhere from 900 to 16,000 years to reach so the crew decide to put themselves into cryo suspension until the Lexx is drawn into the orbit of some system. Over 4,000 years later they are in orbit between two planets, Fire and Water. A binary planetary system, Fire and Water are connected by a thin thread of shared atmosphere. Through this shared atmosphere the inhabitants travel between their planets in crude hot air balloons. It is while passing through this shared atmosphere that one of the balloons is able to reach and board the Lexx. The Lexx is boarded by three men from the planet Fire, one which calls himself "Prince". Prince throws 790 off the bridge, awakens Stanley and takes Xev still in her cryo pod back to Fire. Stan is also taken back to Fire and condemned to a torture device reminiscent of a scene out of Dante's Inferno. Fire is a place of suffering and pain and Prince is the ruler. When Xev awakes, Prince tries to learn everything he can about the Lexx. He senses the presence of the Lexx has upset a divine balance in the Universe. When Prince learns of the destructive power of the Lexx he plans to use it to destroy the planet Water and end a battle between the two planets that had no beginning and for all Prince knows will have no end. Back on the Lexx, Kai awakes and repairs 790. Having no memory of his previous life, 790 is now hopelessly infatuated with Kai. Kai decides to go search for Stan and Xev. Not knowing what planet they are on he makes a guess and jumps from the Lexx in a free fall toward Water. LEXX 3.02: "May" Kai falls to planet Water and lands on a city where a bloody battle has just been fought. One survivor remains, an injured woman name May. She convinces him the people he is looking for are not on Water. Kai captures a balloon sent from the planet Fire and along with May they travel to planet Fire. Back on Fire, Prince tries to convince Stan to use the Lexx to destroy planet Water. As Kai and May approach Prince's city, May kills Prince with an arrow from a cross-bow. News of Prince's death spreads throughout Fire and the inhabitants begin what looks like a funeral ceremony. With Kai, Xev and Stan reunited, they return to the Lexx along with May. Stan is infatuated with May but she will soon be dead and they can do nothing to help her. She tries to convince Stan to destroy planet Fire and end the eternal warring between the two planets. Out of the blue, Prince appears on the Lexx and strikes a bargain with Stan. Prince will return May to life if Stan destroys planet Water. It becomes evident that Prince is some kind of Deity and planet Fire and Water represent a cosmic balance that must not be upset. LEXX 3.03: "Gametown" With May returned to life, Stan now has to fulfill his promise to destroy Water. Stan's efforts to destroy planet Water fail as Xev stops him. Angry with Stan's failure, Prince returns to Fire with May who has been his accomplice all along. Kai leads several Moth ships to planet Water to gather some food for Lexx. They land on Gametown where the inhabitants are engaged in sport games. In contrast to planet Fire, Water is a plentiful planet where the inhabitants live a life of eternal pleasure and enjoyment. One of the inhabitants, Fifi, clearly does not fit in with the others on Gametown. Fifi steals the Moths and heads to Fire. He offers the Moths to a man named Duke to help in the destruction of the people on Water. LEXX 3.04: "Boomtown" Fifi and Duke return to Water with their group of moths and attack Gametown. Kai manages to capture a moth and together with one of the inhabitants named Bunny returns to the Lexx. Bunny informs them there is a city on Water called Boomtown where there is plenty of food and the inhabitants do nothing but engage in sex. All the women on Boomtown are named after fruits and Stan finally gets plenty of sex, in fact more than he can handle. From Bunny, Kai learns there are no children at all on Water. Clearly life on Fire and Water does not follow the normal cycles of life and death. Duke and Fifi return to Fire where Duke uses the Moths to destroy Prince's city. Prince is killed in the process but as Duke well knows it is not the end of Prince. Duke and Fifi now return to Planet Water to destroy Boomtown. As Boomtown is being destroyed a living Kai joins them in their escape. Without any explanation there is now one dead Kai and one Living Kai. Xev is pleased and hopes to finally consummate her relationship with Kai. LEXX 3.05: "Gondola" Escaping in the Moths back to planet Fire, the moths controlled by Fifi and Duke battle the single moth carrying the two Kai's, Xev, Bunny and Stan. The moths crash land on Fire stranding them all. Duke convinces Fifi there is no point in trying to walk out of there because the heat will kill them in a few hours and he is content to just sit down and die. While waiting to die, Duke explains to Fifi that dying on planet Fire will not be the end, you simply keep coming back to life over and over again. The others find a fallen gondola and are able to get it airborne. On it the two Kai's, Xev, Stan and Bunny attempt to make it to the nearest city across a sea of molten lava. On the way they spot Duke and Fifi and pick them up. On their journey they learn from Bunny and Fifi that people are not born in this place, they simply wake up and there they are. Apparently, Fire and Water are repositories for souls in the afterlife. Their gondola is almost out of fuel so they must lose some weight or they will all die. Dead Kai decides to jump and walk the distance, living Kai kills Duke and Fifi throws Bunny off in the night while the others slept. Their gondola finally makes it to a city where they become stranded high up on one of the cities wall. Xev strikes out on her own climbing the wall trying to find a way into the city while the others wait below on a ledge. While waiting, Stan learns the living Kai is really just Prince reincarnated. When Fifi and Prince attempt to throw Stan off the ledge, Xev returns in time (in the form of cluster lizard) and Fifi and Prince fall to their death. LEXX 3.06: "K-Town" Stranded on the walls of K-Town, Xev and Stan start climbing until they find a way in. The two search around and find that K-Town is inhabited by "lost souls", confused zombie-like people who make no sense at all, appear to all be mad and want only to harm Stan and Xev. Soon Xev and Stan are running for their lives. The next person they run into is Mantrid. Mantrid is whole again but has no memory of who he was. This one incident alone makes it evident that planet Fire is a destination for the damned. Kai finally makes it to K-Town and is reunited with Xev and Stan, however, Kai is critically injured, the result of his previous free fall from the Lexx down to planet Water. He suggests that Xev and Stan throw him off the side of the city in the hopes the fall will realign his microprocessors. The fall is not successful and Kai is picked up by a balloon and transported to another city on Fire. Xev and Stan decide to go after Kai on foot but immediately run into Prince. LEXX 3.07: "Tunnels" Kai has been taken to Hog Town. Xev and Stan are determined to get there somehow but refuse to accept any help from Prince. As Prince takes off on his own, Xev and Stan tail him far under the city to a labyrinth of tunnels. At Hog Town, Kai finds himself the victim of a kangaroo court. The court believes they are bringing order to the chaos of planet Fire by determining if each claimant is duly deserving of the pain and degradation inflicted by life on planet Fire. Kai confesses to his deeds as a Divine Assassin so the court sentences him to be thrown off the city. The fall successfully realigns Kai's microprocessors. He then steals a balloon and goes in search of Xev and Stan. As Stan and Xev attempt to walk to Hog Town deep in the underground tunnels connecting the cities, they find the tunnels to be a freak show full of deranged lost souls caught in their own endless cycles of torture and depravity. With the help of Prince, Xev and Stan barely make it out of the tunnels with their lives. LEXX 3.08: "The Key" With the balloon Kai has taken, he picks up Xev and Stan and the three of them return to the Lexx. As captain of the Lexx, Stan insists they leave Fire and Water immediately never to return. There is just one problem, Lexx still needs to eat before it can travel. Stan orders the Lexx to destroy Fire the next time it is in position and then eat the pieces. Xev is determined to stop the destruction of planet Fire and has only 14 hours to stop him. From Kai and 790, she learns how the living key to the Lexx can be transferred - at the point of death or at the point of sexual climax. She decides to give Stan what he has been longing for all this time. Xev has sex with Stan and the key is transferred to Xev. She then orders the Lexx not to destroy Fire. Kai is suspicious of Xev and in an uncharacteristic move he kisses Xev. Someone is not who they appear to be, but is it Xev or Kai? Now Xev orders the Lexx to destroy planet Water the next time it is in position and then eat the remaining chunks. As Xev attempts to return the key to Stan, Kai kills Xev at which point the key is returned to Stan. He orders Lexx not to fire on planet Water. Kai explains to Stan that Xev was really Prince reincarnated as Xev and the real Xev is still somewhere on Planet Fire. LEXX 3.09: "Garden" Kai and Stan return to planet Fire to find the real Xev. Once found the three of them return to the Lexx where they decide to return to planet Water to find something to eat. They land on a city called the Garden where food is grown for all the cities on Water. The Garden is tended by three beautiful young women and Stan would like to make the Garden his permanent home. Kai decides to bury himself in the dirt to eventually decompose as all dead things do. Stan learns the three women on the city have absolutely no interest in sex, but they inform him the Garden can create any "plant" he likes from his dreams. Stan ingests some hallucinogenic plants from the Garden and begins to dream about Lyekka. His dream is planted in the Garden and Lyekka is grown. As always, Lyekka is hungry and soon devours the three women tending the Garden. LEXX 3.10: "Battle" The Garden comes under attack by balloons from Fire. Xev is kidnapped and Lyekka is killed in the attack. The fleet of balloons is under the control of Prince. Kai and Stan manage to commandeer one of the balloons and soon a battle of strategy begins as Prince attempts to maneuver his fleet of balloons to destroy Kai and Stan. The balloon with the highest altitude has the advantage and soon all the balloons start shedding excess weight including any non-essential personnel. With a bit of luck on their side, and due to Princes incompetent sidekick "Priest", Kai and Stan recover Xev as she is dropped into the ocean. With their balloon punctured, Kai releases their Gondola while the three of them cling to the attaching harness and quickly start to rise. Their balloon still will not make it to the Lexx so Kai attempts a desperate maneuver, a jump to another balloon. Kai and Stan make it but it is too late for Xev and she descends to the planet Fire. Kai and Stan return to Fire in a moth and start searching for Xev. Stranded on the surface of Fire, Xev strikes out on foot and encounters the ever persistent ever returning Prince. He informs her they will both be dead in an hour due to the temperature of the desert they are traversing. Prince dies once again but Xev, being half cluster lizard, is able to tolerate the heat. LEXX 3.11: "Girltown" Xev finally makes it to the nearest city on Fire called Girltown. Girltown is ruled by women who have made slaves of drag queens condemned to make hot air balloons, but all the drag queens want to do is make fancy dresses. Kai and Stan follow Xev's footprints to Girltown. Stan is captured and brought before the queen of Girltown which is none other than the animated head of Gigerotta. Gigerotta has plans for Stan, she wants to transplant her head to his body. In a committee proceeding it is determined that Stan is a non-she and most likely Prince in the form of Stan or an agent of Duke. As is typical of most "committees" they are unable to come to a unanimous consensus. Finally a convoluted compromise is made and Gigerotta gets her wish to transplant her head onto Stan. Meanwhile, Kai frees all the drag queens from their chains who then turn on their captors and throw them off the city. The drag queens are now free to dress up in all their fancy dresses and party. Kai rescues Stan from Gigerotta in the nick of time and together with Xev return to the Lexx in a moth. All the drag queens follow them in balloons as the head toward planet water to start a new life. As they approach center orbit and pass near the Lexx, the Lexx eats all of the balloons and Stan and Kai are knocked out of the moth and fall toward Water. Sensing the death of Stan, the key departs and enters Xev who is able to remain with the moth. LEXX 3.12: "The Beach" Stan and Kai continue their fall toward Water. Being de-carbonized, Kai sinks and begins a long descent to the center of planet Water. Stan tries to stay afloat as long as possible but finally succumbs to exhaustion and drowns. Now dead, Stan's fate is in the hands of Prince. Stan washes up on a beach and is met by Prince who informs him they are between Fire and Water, on the other side of the living. Here Stan meets his other self and together they defend his life while Prince is to place judgment on his deeds and decide if Stan will spend eternity on Water or on Fire. After hearing Stan plead his case, Prince sentences him to be damned forever on planet Fire. Xev searches the oceans of Water for Stan and Kai. She comes upon Stan's dead body and returns it to the Lexx. Unable to bring him back to life, she places his body in a cryo pod to preserve him. As Kai continues his descent toward the center of Water he sees the souls of people waiting their turn at life on Water. When Kai finally reaches the center of Water he suddenly "wakes up" at Gametown where apparently nothing has changed despite it being destroyed previously by Fifi and Duke. Xev eventually finds Kai on Gametown and the two are reunited. LEXX 3.13: "Heaven and Hell" Kai convinces Xev that Stan's life essence must be on Fire since Water appears to be the afterlife of the virtuous and Stan did not always make virtuous choices in his life. Determined to reunite Stan's soul with his body, they land on Prince's city to confront him and bargain for Stan's life essence. Prince refuses to bargain and informs them Stan is in a place waiting his turn for punishment. When they ask where exactly Stan's life essence is, Prince points to a deep pit that apparently leads to the fiery center of the planet. Kai immediately jumps in followed by Prince. They both end up in a place that is "in between", similar to the beach where Stan was judged, only this place is a desert. Prince leads Kai to where Stan's soul is, in a fiery vortex in the sky waiting for level 9 punishment - he is to man the bellows until his arms and legs give out, lose his head and then repeat this process for the rest of time. Prince now has the upper hand but there is one thing he wants that only the Lexx can give him, he wants the planet Water destroyed. To do this he must persuade Xev who is now in possession of the key to Lexx. Xev manages to escape Prince and returns to the Lexx in a moth. With both Kai and Stan now trapped within the planet Fire, Xev struggles with a moral dilemma - should she blow up Fire and all its inhabitants just to get rid of Prince. With the help of her cluster lizard side, Xev orders the Lexx to destroy Fire. Upon its destruction the planet Fire releases all the souls trapped there, including Stan's which is reunited with his body. Against her will, Prince's life essence is able to control the Lexx and he destroys Water to maintain balance in the universe. Planet Water also releases all of its souls. Kai is found floating in space among all the pieces of Fire and Water and is soon recovered. Now that Fire and Water have been destroyed, a little blue planet is revealed that was in an orbit opposite to Fire and Water. |
