Season 1
LEXX 1: "I Worship His Shadow" LEXX begins with a feeble attempt by Kai and a small band of poet-warriors at defending their home planet Brunnis-2 against the forces of his Divine Shadow. As ruler of the League of 20,000 Planets, his Divine Shadow annihilates Brunnis-2 with a weapon called the Mega-Shadow which rains down sheets of energy onto the planet. His planet and race destroyed, Kai makes a desperate attempt to crash his vessel into the control pod of the Mega-Shadow. Captured by his Divine Shadow, Kai is killed and then turned into a Divine Assassin, an animated corpse in the service of his Divine Shadow. Meanwhile, back on the Cluster, home planet of the League of 20,000 planets, Stanley Tweedle, an insignificant cog in the great wheel, is to be punished for his incompetence and insubordination. His punishment - donation of three body parts. Xev Bellringer of planet B3K, a victim of the Cluster's court system is sentenced to be transformed into a love slave for failing in her wifely duties. The transformation is interrupted, attacked by a cluster lizard which gets caught in the machine with Xev leaving her part reptile and part human. Only Xev's body is transformed, not her mind. Instead a robot head name 790 undergoes the mind transformation intended for Xev. As a result, Xev is turned into the ultimate temptress and 790 is reprogrammed to be sex obsessed and forever unable to satisfy his desires. Together these 4 unlikely heroes end up on the LEXX, "the most powerful vessel in the two universes", built by his Divine Shadow to defend his empire and enforce his will. Escaping through a fractal core to another universe, The Dark Zone, these 4 characters begin their search for a better place. This episode guest stars Barry Bostwick as a failed resistance leader who attempts to steal the LEXX. LEXX 2.0: "Super Nova" Xev is smitten by Kai. Believing he can be returned to life, Xev searches for the planet Brunnis, the origins of his people, in the hopes they have the knowledge to bring Kai back to life. Brunnis is now a lifeless planet. Its people long ago left Brunnis due to its dying sun. On Brunnis the crew of the LEXX fall victim to the automated technologies left behind. As Brunnis' star is about to go supernova, a strange power emanating from the star and it's celestial counterpart - Blue Star, intervenes in the fate of our heroes. According to predictions foretold by the time prophets, Kai, the last of the Brunnin-G, is destined to destroy his Divine Shadow. This episode guest stars Tim Curry as Poet Man, an automated hologram determined to ensure his seed survives. LEXX 3.0: "Eating Pattern" The LEXX and crew discover a solar system whose planets have been destroyed by war. All that remains is a garbage planet inhabited by a few surviving people and an alien creature who infects their bodies with parasitic worms that crave a nutrient called pattern. Without "pattern" the worm will eat their brain. These few survivors have learned to live in harmony with their worm and have devised a game they play where the loser donates parts of their body to be converted into pattern. This episode guest stars Rutger Hauer as Bog, King of the survivors, all driven mad by their worm hosts. LEXX 4.0: "Giga Shadow" The crew decide to return to the Light Universe and back to the Cluster through the fractal core in an attempt to find more protoblood for Kai. Protoblood is what keeps Kai's body animated and can only be found on the Cluster. They find the planet almost entirely abandoned now with only a few priests of his Divine Shadow engaged in a ceremony to bring the Giga Shadow to fulfillment. It turns out His Divine Shadow is actually the last survivor of a race of insects destroyed by the Brunnin-G in a war fought long ago. These insect beings have the unique ability to transfer their essence to another host body and therefore maintain essentially immortality. The Giga Shadow is the fulfillment of His Divine Shadows plan to completely destroy all humanity and regain the ascendancy of his insect species. This episode guest stars Malcolm McDowell as a reluctant priest of his Divine Shadow. |
